Founded in the early 2000s by Carlo Ninchi and Vittorio Locatelli as a multidisciplinary design studio, ONEROOM works across different fields of visual creativity. Based in Shoreditch, in a converted Victorian warehouse split over four floors with a private roof terrace, the practice produces interior design for private houses, industrial and graphic design, exhibitions, photographic shoots, video installations, web design and social media consultancies. The gallery exhibits interiors intended as art installations and emotional spaces. The online gallery has an expert team on hand to make buying and shipping easy and convenient, operating through specialized international shippers.
What is your current state of mind?
Empty. That means opens and wholly receptive to everything.
Where would you most like to live?
We like big cities. We moved from Milan to London because of that. We could live in New York, Paris or Hong Kong.
What is your favorite occupation?
Interiors. How we live, how people could live better, how to improve the quality of living through spaces and objects.
What is your most marked characteristic?
We like to create spaces that include a mix of vintage and contemporary furniture, art and lighting, along with richly coloured carpets and paintwork. We work by addition rather then by subtraction. We like the meaning of “less is more” but for us “more is never enough”. We prefer to let complexity take over, as long as equilibrium and calm arise from chaos.
