Saskia Onvlee was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1984. She commenced her studies in workshops and attended most part of the Visual Arts career in UNA. She then perfected her studies in woodcut and art print in the workshop Grafica P/A, directed by Patricio Bosh and Ana Noya (Argentina). In 2012 she moved to Mexico where she continued her training in attending workshops of several Mexican artists. Since 2008 she actively exhibits individually and collectively. Her work is mainly dedicated to embassing, woodcut and linocut. With wildlife as a recurrent protagonist, she approaches day-to-day human behavior with humor and irony. Together with her husband Carlos she currently runs ¨La Sonrisa de la Muerte¨, a print gallery that exhibits the work of national and foreign artists and also organises workshops around graphic in Todos Santos, Baja California Sur, Mexico.
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Happiness for me is to get home after a fruitful work day and open a beer and eat something delicious with my partner, friends or, better, both!
What is your current state of mind?
Trying to quiet the avalanche of thoughts and connect with the state of soul.
