Kate Gordon is the founder and CEO of London Art Studies. Having produced arts programming for CNN and Carlton, she decided to launch London Art Studies in 2011 which provides educational courses on art for individuals and for corporate events. Kate previously headed up Sotheby’s Public Programmes department. Educated at St Paul’s Girls' School, Amherst College USA and University of Moscow, she has worked in the art world for over 20 years. Kate is a co-Founder of the Association of Women in the Arts and writes about the art world for London’s Evening Standard newspaper. She is a member of Tate Patrons Executive Committee, and an Ambassador for Arts Alliance
What is your idea of perfect happiness?
Any day which involves books, a walk outside, something delicious to eat, something of wonder to see in the art world, and time with family and friends.
What is your greatest extravagance?
Fresh flowers and too many books.
What is your current state of mind?
Always looking forward.
Which talent would you most like to have?
In my mind, I can sing and dance...! In real life, it’s another story.
If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?
I wish I didn’t always believe what people said, but rather what they did...
What do you most value in your friends?
Honesty, loyalty, and being able to laugh.
